M-sensei, my homeroom teacher, is awesome. She has gone above and beyond for us. She’s also helping me do some personal reviewing of the bits of grammar I still have issues with. Thanks M-sensei! You rock!<\/p>\n
In JBPP, we had to work on our\u00e3\u20ac\u20ac\u00e8\u2021\u00aa\u00e5\u00b7\u00b1PR (jiko <\/em>PR), which is this uniquely Japanese part of a resume where you’re allowed to sell yourself, but you have to do it in a polite and socially-acceptable way. So you get to brag a little, but it’s usually stuff about how you’re a great team player, how you respect your seniors, and stuff like that.<\/p>\n It’s completely <\/strong>alien to me in that regard. This is probably the hardest part of writing my resume materials for Japan.<\/p>\n Well, I thought it was the hardest part until we started talking about Entry Sheets, which are essentially juiced-up application forms for companies, but you need to not just write stuff out, you have to do it with panache<\/em> — but with a socially-acceptable level of panache.<\/p>\n I get it, and I don’t get it all at the same time. It makes my head hurt a bit.<\/p>\n This evening, I went by Imagine at Wingtown around dinner time to grab some \u00e6\u203a\u00b8\u00e9\u0081\u201c (shodo, calligraphy) books, and maybe some \u00e3\u0192\u2021\u00e3\u201a\u00b6\u00e3\u201a\u00a4\u00e3\u0192\u00b3\u00e6\u203a\u00b8\u00e9\u0081\u201c (design shodo) books, too. Maybe sometime I can leverage my \u00e6\u203a\u00b8\u00e9\u0081\u201c skills to write a killer Entry Sheet. <\/p>\n I’m boxing up packages for the US as well. It’s kind of a sad feeling. By this time next week, I’ll be on my way to Tokyo, and a week after that, I’ll be back in the US.<\/p>\n Now I’m getting bummed out.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Yesterday’s grammar re-test went well.
